But i think i have to inform/illustrate/elaborate/report/propose/i'm getting rather irrelevant the dream that i had yesterday

it was a fine afternoon and the scorching sun was scalding the cement ground.
i don't know where i was , really .
but somehow a piece of paper gets onto my hand and i realised that ..
"oh , I'm receiving the 'O' level results today!"
and what's stated on it was ...

Then , rain poured.
tears poured.

if it happens in reality , i think i'll cry too :(

In order to prepare himself for the 2years stay in America next year ,
Wen(my eldest brother) finally set himself on "training".
While my mum is away from Singapore
(she's coming back today .. aww :( i need to return her her bed ),


Wen decided " let's go sheng shiong and i'll cook lunch tmr(saturday)"





i was laughing mad inside and Long(another brother) was looking really dubious about it.

i was employed by Wen to TEACH him how to go about cooking..
Though i always had a flair for kitchen stuffs , i seriously had no idea about teaching,
especially .. teaching a virgin , a cooking virgin i mean ..
well , i had never ever in my 16years of life seen Wen cooked anything else except maggie noodles
In order to make me not feel too bad,
i told myself , " ... at least he knows how to use the gas stove "

For a start , at 11am we went to the supermarket and bought some fresh ingredients
And that's one of the main reason why i made this post
when it comes to identifying food,
Those 2 guys become idiots. REAL IDIOTS





Ever since Long mistook vegetables for beans,
sweet potatoes for potatoes
and Wen who bought one cabbage home and requested a salad from me ..
This trip to the supermarket again proves how ridiculous/hilarious they can be.

while we were busy searching for potatoes for the soup,


Wen took me to the fruit section and points to a mountain of a brown-looking fruit and flarantly told me " there!"


*faints*

i don't supposed potatoes appearing at the fruits section ?

and I know both are brown in colour but i swear i won't drink if you add chiku into my soup

We returned home to cook lunch and i wasn't allowed to do any of the cooking since the aim of it was to let Wen learn..


and i finally understand how was it like when my mum taught me how to cook for the very first time...

Everything was higgledy-piggledy and i had to teach him how to manage the uncooked ingredients,how to dice capsium,how to shred carrots... even how to hold a knife correctly .

up till here , i guessed you can guess how is it like when he STARTED.

i do have the right to complain as my supposed-ly lunch became dinner


because he was really-really-really-extremely-YOU-CANNOT-IMAGINE de .. slow

perhaps that's a very sad truth : that we may set on different different paths after this year
yes we will meet up often(i hope) and lotsa get-tgt
but it still sounds pretty sad right ?

a life of a typical Singapore is as summarised:

• 0-2years old , who the hell rmbed that part of life?
• 3-6years old , yes parents are trying to groom you into a mathematics/scientific/artistics/music/gymnastic/sports genius when you are actually neither of them
• 7-2?years old study like there's no tomorrow and get a piece of paper that proves your capability
• 2?-6? work for a living , live for your work ... and if you live long enough , you might be lucky to get your CPF back
• 6?-?? prepare your own coffin, rmb Singapore do not have enough land to bury you so do cremate yourself to save space

so ... you still wanna grow up ?
no wonder Jy wants to imigrate
















I was brought back to the reality after so many years of wonderland

it represents many things to different individuals i guess?
independence dependence greed freedom love power and sometimes , a blessing in disguise.
Because of all the emotions that surrounds money, people often find it hard to deal with it objectively and productively.

we may spent till there isn't a single penny in our wallets(JY KNOWS BEST) inexchange for bags,clothes,newhandphones .. or most probably a higher-class dinner
but i dare you to call us vain
'cos i tell you we are rich
up there and in there(and i'm not refering to wallets)

Why do fingers wrinkle in water

I was swimming with the girls last saturday at Woodlands Swimming Complex,
we were resting and chatting when i realised this : Jessie22 kept "protruding" her palms in the air (you can imagine that action)
Then , she asked a question which puzzled everyone(or is it only me?)

"Why do fingers wrinkle in water ?"

AND NOW ... THE TRUTH IS REVEALED !!!

The outer layer of the skin(epidermis), is made up of a protein called keratin.
These cells divide rapidly at the bottom of epidermis, pushing the higher cells upward.
Stratum corneum is just the upper layer of the epidermis.

so when you go swimming, the keratin absorbs the water and swells.
(so i think it means the partially permeable membrane is indeed present)
The inside of the fingers, however, does not swell. As a result, there is relatively too much stratum corneum and it wrinkles, just like a 百褶裙 . (good description?)

and regarding to Jessie22 's question : why doesn't the other parts of the body skin wrinkle ?


This bunching up/wrinkling occurs on fingers/toes simply because the epidermis is much thicker on the hands and feet than elsewhere on the body. (The hair and nails, which contain different types of keratin, also absorb some water. This is why the nails get softer after bathing or doing the dishes.)

and yes it's directly opposite of what JY had suggested , that is "because the skin on our hands are thinner"
it is in fact , thicker .

lesson learnt:
Soaking in water does hydrate the skin, but only temporary.
water quickly evaporates, leaving the skin dryer than before(oh my god)
But if oil is added before the skin dries, much of the absorbed water is retained.
Thus, applying a bath oil or heavy lotion directly after a bath or swimming is a good method of hydrating the skin.

WHAT HAPPENED ?!?


ONCE AGAIN ,it just implies to me how vulnerable we , mankind, are to natural disasters.
there's no prevention that could be done AT ALL ..
you probably can reduce the number of casualties by acting beforehand
but you can't stop it from happening after all
perhaps this is just another way the Earth is expressing her unhappiness for our constant exploitation and abusing.
The signs were so much so ..... absolute .

no wonder I nearly failed my combined humanities

and i is around 20 bucks per head ! ( not inclusive of GST/SERVICE CHARGE) it's not cheap but not expensive i think ...

Today's biggest news from the notorious 4e2:


I've seen the physical leader(PL) 破天荒 blew on his top , and also the first time I've seen Ms.Xw , the strong, never-say-die , and (to me) vertically challenged(this got no link at all , just another piece of information about her) , shed her precious tears in class .

This was what happened ,


There was a clamour of voices in the room as there was no teacher . Me , too , was happily chattering away with Glynis and JY when a sudden thunderous voice nearly threw me off balance . I began insearching for the source and i realised it came from a corner of the room . I shifted my sight and set it on the PL . For that moment i thought that he really looked like 包公 except that he doesn't have a moon-shaped mark on his forehead .

Mr PL and Ms Xw started wrangling in flame with one another though i can't really figure out they were squabbling about . but Seriously speaking , i was stunned , flabbergasted and speechless lor ! Walao siao siao Physical Leader fuming in rage is such such such a rare scene can ?!?! I test before Ms.Xw 's 吵架的功力 ， 连我都甘愿做他的手下败将好不好 ？

一个是吵架界里的佼佼者 ， 一个是不鸣则以， 一鸣惊人 的Physical leader ...
very eager to know who won right ?!? *Laugh out loud*

Actually i also dunno who won ... but i managed to get some idea about what the hell had happened .
Apparently , the upshot of a heated row was sparked off by Ms.Xw throwing waterbottle at the PL during a conversation，and i really believe that she meant no harm and just “出于玩笑 ” , simply because "dangerous jokes" were simply rampant in our class ..

and adding from what Mr Loh had reflected ....

"at first is me and wang f playing paper balls ,
shooting at each other
then wang f throw accidnt hit xiwei head,tat time still in playing mood so xi wei was like
'i wan to throw things at the guy's head'
then jiayang take jm's things out say ' nah nah take this take tat
out came jm's pencil case, files paper and the water bottle
xiwei take still dunno who throw her so anyhow throw
kana jy head
could tell jy was feeling painful
then qiang yi say ' wa today finally u hit someone's head accurately'
xiwei then laugh laugh
suddenly jy stood up take water bottle and threw on xiwei head,
damn hard den jy say ' eh u throw at innocent ppl head still laugh laugh laugh' loudly
xiwei started crying
asked for tissue frm qiang yi
then went off to toilet instead"

*Jy here refers to the Physical leader and not Jieying =)

and i dunno how , and why PL got really infuriated with that action (perhaps it really hurts..just my guess) . PL roared at Ms.Xw,if i'm not wrong , with some vulgarities and eventually threw the poor little innocent waterbottle at her . According to Illya (who was enjoying music with her ear-piece stucked in her ears) , the sound of the bottle hitting on Ms.Xw was "very very loud"

well eventually , PL did the gentlemanly way of apologising
i think he actually waited outside the girls' toilet and said sorry to Ms.Xw regarding his sudden and weird change of attitude or in KC's way of saying , not keeping a cool head .

Happy ending -Ms.Xw accepted the sincere apology ofcos !

anyway .. in the end both our girls and boys team won the Champions

and since they played so hard , and we cheered so loudly
i m looking forward to hear from Mr Chin tmr,

"Ytd's match was a success and all of you did a very good job . so Today half day!!!!"
