Monday morning :
took me a wonderful 15mins to get a taxi
hop onto it and rushed down yishun and nevertheless , i'm still late for the 0730 meeting

and you won't believe it Glynis's BAG is so small compared to our LUGGAGE


HOW THE HELL DID SHE MANAGE TO GET EVERYTHING I HAVE IN MY LUGGAGE INTO HER TINY BAG ?!?

i really wonder..

I was hungry because i orh-bee to be late , and manage to find food until i reach the ferry ticketing place . Headed for a plate of fried beehoon+3fishballs+1 piece of luncheon meat since i was pretty hungry .
And it was extraodinarily expensive alright !! cost me $3.70 !!
To the hell with that 黑店 ( pls take note it's at the left side of the escalator, the one nearest to the ticketing counter) ,the so called "Rice vermicelli" was throw-your-mother-old-shoe-ly salty and dry.
I might just die of thirst(which i didnt) or drop hundreds strands of hair from eating it!
ok fried doesn't mean it has to be dry , and do take note salt ain't free
maybe they can try changing the name of fried-beehoon to dry and salted beehoon。
比较适合 =）

however i was in a good mood so i didnt ask for a refund ( readers' mind: as if you will....)
then ... we headed for Batam !!!!!!!

Once we reached Jen's house .

okay .

i was shocked .

the first storey gives the look of a ticketing office(which does not at all link to somebody 's house)

then we realised 内有乾坤
go up to the second floor the first part of the house that welcomes you is a kitchen , followed by a dining area. A very vintage Back-to-the-80s doorway several bedrooms and a living room if you walk further in.

if i m not wrong there's 5 staircases in Jen's house , it is 4 storeys high anyway. weird format , but cute also can play catching XD fourth floor is just a piece of open, flat and empty roof top =)

the third storey is the place we sleep, where most other bedrooms are and a washroom.

come to talk of toilets , i need to show something quite rare in Singapore !

YES THERE'S NO WATER HEATER THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine 5 days 4 nights

without water heater

and when you need to wash up while it's raining outside

WAKE UP TO FIND YOURSELF WET FROM SPLASHING ICE FROM THE MACHINE AND BLASTED WITH A LOUD AND EAR DRUM-CHALLENGING SOUND GENERATED FROM IT.

WOW FUN !

Grew resistant for it by the 3rd day

and i think it was fixed the day we left

OH YESH YESH YESH !

I CANT POSSIBLY MISS THESE !

FLOODINGS !!

At the beginning it was purely rain i guess , then you can see lots of uncles standing outside kicking something on the floor towards the cars.

take a closer look ； they are kicking back cockroaches crawling on the floor into the water

-.- uncles thanks for saving us .

raining doesnt spoil our shopping mood so we still hopped on jen's family car and on the way to the shopping centre....it was flooding

a while later , it was flooded

The very next day i took a picture of how small the drain is ( not even sure that's considered a drain or not)
that's cory's foot and i think it's like ...size 5 ? or 4 ?
so BIG very hard for the place not to flood right ?!?

The first two days ... as how i describe it .. dead , DEAD CAN ?!?!?
there's only cory-kind-of-clothes around and others ... for aunties

And when we walk from malls to malls(strongly disencouraged; very dangerous act) , some tikopeh will give you funny stares when you walked by. and what i meant by funny is not the ha-ha funny , it's weird/变态 kind of funny and they do make alot of sound.yes besides funny , noisy and irritating .

and when you cross a road , alot of cars will horn at you .

DON'T BE AFRIAD ! they're taxis w/o the word "TAXI" on the top of the car.

In Singapore , we flag for taxis.

In Batam , taxis flag you =) by horning continuously at you even though you said "no thank you"

okay despite all the weird/funny surprises , we do get nice ones too ! =D
we arrived at BCS(Batam City Square-highly recommended) , and we had our dinner at BREEKS .

At the beginning 2 days i simply cant manage with their currency . Money doesn't feels like money . It's like pieces of paper with long strings of digits at a corner. Imagine dealing with ten and hundreds of thousands everytime you buy something and don't even know whether you have gotten the correct change or not. i really did regret not bringing a calculator over =(


HOWEVER , ONCE YOU LEARNT HOW TO CONVERT FROM RUPIA TO DOLLARS .

IT'S A DIFFERENT STORY ALREADY



Saw that pasta with mushroom cream sauce ? after convertion , it's about 2 dollars . and it's BREEKS the american cafe. NOT KOPITHIAM ok (now kopithiam one plate chicken rice costs 2.50)
F**KING CHEAP ! Had the urge to order one of everything in the menu ! XD

that's cory with a massive attack , it cost us around 15 dollars in singapore but you can get to indulge in this chocolaty , abit of a ice blended but yet powderish(milo) , topped with 4huge scoops of chocolate ice cream and loads of wheat cream dessert without spending more than 6 dollars !

THIS IS THE HAPPIEST THING I'VE DONE

CHRISTMAS THEME ! GOT SNOWMANs , CHRISTMAS TREEs AND REINDEERs !!!!!!

guess how much it cost me ??

you can get someone paint your 10 finger/toe nails one-by-one for .... TEN DOLLARS !!!

and what i meant by paint , is that they draw with a tiny-winy brush on every single nails of yours ! whichever pattern/picture you want! yay ! =D

very worth it right ?!?(atleast i do think so =D )

something i've learnt from this BATAM trip !!!!
